Join the Systems Integration and Verification (SIV) team to develop the software infrastructure that lets us simulate and emulate our satellites and their environments on both our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testbeds.
You will work closely with FSW (Flight Software), AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control Systems), AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test) and other engineering teams to understand our missions and to design simulation infrastructure tailored to specific mission needs.
Software Infrastructure Engineer (all genders)

Permanent employee
Your Mission:
- Investigate mission- and system-level needs and derive requirements for the simulation environment.
- Design and implement basic interface simulators for simple aliveness and integration tests.
- Develop full functional simulators or emulators for key subsystems to support end-to-end testing.
- Evaluate and integrate realistic environment simulation solutions and build the infrastructure to use them in our SIL and HIL setups.
- Integrate simulations with our continuous integration (CI) pipelines and manual test campaigns, ensuring they are reliable, reproducible and easy for other teams to use.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or related fields or equivalent work experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with the scientific stack (e.g. NumPy, SciPy, Pandas) for implementing and analyzing simulations.
- Experience building or using simulation tools for dynamic systems (e.g. physics-based or hardware emulation).
- Proven experience in the aerospace industry, ideally with direct exposure to flight software and hardware.
- Comfortable working in Ubuntu/Linux environments and using the command line as part of your daily workflow.
- Proficient with Git and experienced using GitLab and CI pipelines — you should be comfortable managing branches, handling merge requests, and troubleshooting CI issues independently.
- Experience with Basilisk or similar simulation frameworks.
- Experience integrating simulations into SIL/HIL setups or automated test environments.
- Familiarity with Docker.
- Experience with InfluxDB and Grafana.
